Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dynamic dealership team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a seamless and professional service experience. This role combines technical understanding with exceptional customer service skills to foster trust and satisfaction. Prior dealership experience, mechanical knowledge, and sales aptitude are highly valued to succeed in this position.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their vehicle service needs.
- Explain repair and maintenance options clearly, providing expert advice based on mechanical knowledge.
- Write detailed repair orders, accurately documenting customer concerns and recommended services.
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs while maintaining quality standards.
- Upsell additional services or products that benefit the customer’s vehicle and safety.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently.
- Maintain thorough records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
- Promote dealership services, specials, and maintenance packages to increase sales opportunities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or in a similar dealership role is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge or mechanic experience is highly desirable to effectively communicate with technicians and customers.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Sales experience with a focus on upselling additional services or products.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Valid driver’s license required; automotive industry certifications are a plus but not mandatory.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.18-$26.00 per hour
