Job Summary
We are seeking a highly discreet, meticulous, and professional Executive & Archival Packer. This role provides premium, white-glove packing, archival preservation, and internal relocation services for a high-profile project in Ottawa, Ontario. You will handle sensitive, confidential, and irreplaceable assets—including rare book collections and textiles, historic furniture, and premium IT assets—with the utmost care, respect, and security.
This is a contract position aligned with a phased relocation schedule running tentatively from July through September, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute White-Glove Preservation: Provide flawless packing, unpacking, and precise content staging for high-level executive professionals and their support spaces.
- Perform Core Packing & Labelling: Wrap, box, tape, and systematically tag general office contents, files, and supplies to guarantee organized unpacking and identical office layouts at the destination.
- Adhere to Archival Handling Protocols: Handle all volumes with extreme care, utilizing both hands for containers, keeping hands clean/glove protected.
- Manage Specialized Packing Inventory: Pack historic clothing and documents using acid-free boxes and folders. Utilize heavy-duty lidded plastic totes, picture boxes, and polyethylene zip bags.
- Relocate Specialized IT Equipment: Prepare, wrap, protect, and relocate workstations, televisions, desktop units, printers, and monitor arms while keeping all associated electrical and connection cables securely paired with their respective devices.
- Maintain Inventory & Condition Logs: Complete highly detailed inventory sheets, condition reports, and daily timesheets to be verified and signed off by the site supervisor and project authorities.
- Maintain Absolute Security & Discretion: Operate with complete discretion regarding client identities, locations, and workspace contents. Ensure zero unauthorized removal of project materials or information from the site.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of proven experience in premium commercial packing, white-glove moving, or museum/archival preservation an asset.
- Discretion & Clearances: Must be a Canadian citizen holding a valid, verifiable Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance (or higher) or able to get one at time of project start.
- Equipment Proficiency: Demonstrated experience safely operating furniture dollies, panel carts, pallet drivers, and specialized IT equipment bins.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to handle repetitive heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and standing.
- Teamwork & Accountability: Ability to work well with a team, under pressure, with accountability for great attention to detail.
- Professional Conduct: Willingness to wear a company-branded uniform on-site and adhere strictly to formal security sign-in and escort protocols.
