Job Description:
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for data analysis (adhoc), and financial statement analysis including budgeting and forecasting; document control for the board of directors; and facilitating internal audits from the parent company in regards to J-SOX. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in any analysis needs, along with supporting the business strategy department in understanding and assessing the changing needs of the company.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Analyze and validate the business needs of stakeholders

Fulfill analysis request from Finance Manager and the rest of Senior Management team (adhoc)

Create reports, and presentations in relation to financial and budgetary results (monthly)

Provide monthly status reports (design and upkeep) on budget vs actual spending

Support finance manager in preparation and facilitation of budgets (bi-annual)

Facilitate and support internal audits from parent co.

Prepare and Control board of director material and resolutions
Qualifications:
-
2+ years experience in financial and/or business analysis or related field within a manufacturing environment (preferred)

Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP (IFRS)

Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements

CPA/CFA designation is an asset, but not required

Excellent skills in MS Excel is required

Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills

Excellent communication, presentation, meeting facilitation and interpersonal skills

Strong morals and ethics, along with commitment to confidentiality

Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook

Prior knowledge of SAP is an asset

Superior attention to detail in all areas of work

Professional appearance and manners

Bilingual English/Japanese is considered an asset
