Job Summary
Tryzub Ukrainian Dance Ensemble is seeking a contemporary dance instructor/choreographer to lead two Saturday choreography-based classes focused on exploring Ukrainian stories, themes, and motifs through contemporary movement.
Classes:
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Artistic Director to help shape and develop creative works that blend contemporary dance practices with Ukrainian cultural inspiration.
Responsibilities:
- Teach weekly contemporary dance classes in a positive and inclusive environment
- Create choreography and movement exploration activities appropriate for each age group
- Guide dancers in storytelling through movement
- Collaborate artistically with the Artistic Director
- Encourage creativity, confidence, and artistic growth in students
- Assist in preparing choreography for possible performances or showcases
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching and choreographing contemporary dance
- Strong understanding of movement development, improvisation, and artistic process
- Ability to work with both youth and teen dancers
- Collaborative and creative mindset
- Ukrainian dance experience is considered an asset, but is not required
