Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our restaurant team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will support food preparation and service operations by ensuring dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. Previous experience in food handling or restaurant settings is a plus but not required. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the food industry while contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment promptly to ensure cleanliness and availability for food preparation and service
- Assist with basic meal preparation and food handling tasks as directed by kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, workstations, and storage areas in compliance with food safety standards
- Support the organization of the kitchen by properly storing cleaned items and ensuring supplies are stocked
- Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
- Assist with trash disposal and recycling processes regularly throughout shifts
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods by helping with light food prep or serving duties as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic food safety practices is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist others in the kitchen
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy trays or containers
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
Pay: $17.60 per hour
