The location for this position for the summer term is: Edmonds Office 6911 Southpoint Dr, Burnaby, BC V3N 4X8.
As a student, you will learn and experience:
- Practical, hands-on work experience directly related to your specific field of study.
- Producing graphs, drawings, maps, and diagrams.
- How to create and revise a variety of standard engineering/design computer-aided drafting (CAD) drawings.
- Assesses drawings against standards and flags designs that appear to involve conflicting data.
- Learn all about other divisions and initiatives at BC Hydro.
- Verifies drawings with the provided dimensions, elevations and slopes, scales, quantities of materials etc.
- May update Geographic Information System (GIS) information.
- Assigns and records drawing numbering maintains drawing lifecycles.
- Learning and training opportunities, including opportunities to network with your division.
- Take advantage of the opportunity to explore future career options.
- Depending on what team the successful candidate is hired into, duties can also include some of the following:
- Work mainly in the office but may participate in some field visits.
- Participate in high value, multi-disciplinary project work and gain valuable insight into the organization and implementation
of large capital projects. Gain exposure to the exciting and increasingly growing hydro electric industry.
