Elm Hurst Inn & Spa is looking for a passionate and reliable Chef de Partie to join our culinary team.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their craft, works well under pressure, and understands the importance of consistency, organization, and teamwork. This role is ideal for a cook who is ready to take ownership of a station and contribute to a kitchen focused on quality, presentation, and memorable guest experiences.
As Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for preparing and executing menu items to the highest standard while supporting the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen. You will play an important role in maintaining food quality, kitchen cleanliness, timing, and service standards.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Take ownership of an assigned station and ensure it is organized, stocked, and ready for service.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, portioning, taste, and presentation.
- Assist with prep, service, banquets, events, and daily restaurant operations.
- Support the Sous Chef and Executive Chef with daily kitchen tasks and service execution.
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and health and safety procedures.
- Monitor product quality and communicate any shortages or concerns.
- Help maintain a clean, professional, and organized kitchen environment.
- Work as part of a team and support other stations when needed.
- Contribute ideas and bring a positive attitude to the kitchen.
What We Are Looking For:
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a hotel, restaurant, banquet, or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of food preparation, cooking techniques, and station management.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage time effectively.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset.
- Culinary education is an asset, but experience and attitude are equally valued.
