Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in need of support. This role involves working closely with clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others through attentive caregiving, medication management, and daily living assistance. Prior experience in senior care, working with individuals with disabilities, or dementia care is highly valued. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding to ensure proper nutrition
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare providers or family members
- Assist with mobility and transfers using proper techniques to ensure safety
- Support clients with toileting, incontinence care, and other personal hygiene needs
- Follow care plans accurately and document care provided in accordance with agency policies
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments is preferred
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous
- Ability to administer medications safely and accurately
- Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, compassion, and empathy
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks efficiently while maintaining professionalism
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs of clients and work schedules
- Basic understanding of safety protocols related to caregiving and medication management
