The Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA) is a national profession-based health care association representing over 8000 chiropractors across Canada. Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Content Manager is responsible for developing and delivering engaging, strategic content that supports the organization’s purpose and strategic objectives. This role combines content creation with strategic planning, creativity, and strong project management to ensure campaigns and initiatives are delivered on time, on brand, and with measurable impact.
Working collaboratively with the MARCOM team and other internal departments, the Content Manager maintains an organized, proactive, and integrated marketing and communications calendar that aligns with organizational campaigns and priorities. The ideal candidate is a highly organized communicator who excels at managing multiple priorities, planning ahead, and driving projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy and Planning – 15%
- Develop and manage the organization’s content marketing strategy and editorial calendar, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and supporting key initiatives such as public awareness campaigns, World Spine Day, advocacy campaigns, member engagement, and patient outreach.
- Identify opportunities for proactive storytelling and campaigns, clearly understanding and communicating the purpose and intended impact behind each initiative.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure messaging supports broader objectives and resonates with target audiences.
- Monitor the healthcare, policy, and media landscape to identify emerging developments, issues, and opportunities, supporting timely insights and recommendations for leadership
Content Creation and Writing – 35%
- Research, write, and edit content for a variety of channels (ex. website, emails, newsletters, scripts, social media, and other digital or print communications)
- Ensure all content is consistent with brand voice, organizational priorities, and intended audience outcomes.
- Tailor messaging to engage diverse interest holders, members, patients, policymakers, and the public, while understanding why each message matters
- Support media relations and issues management activities, using sound judgment and professionalism when preparing communications for members, media, interest holders, internal leaders, and external partners.
Project and Campaign Management – 20%
- Build and manage timelines and coordinate deliverables across the MARCOM team, ensuring projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
- Support and, where applicable, lead campaign planning and execution, helping communicate the purpose, objectives, and expected outcomes to internal interest holders.
- Coordinate and manage relationships with external marketing agencies and vendors, ensuring clear briefs, timelines, deliverables, approvals, and performance expectations.
- Manage approvals, workflows, and cross-team collaboration to maintain alignment and accountability.
- Support cross-departmental communication and alignment on key initiatives, fostering clarity around purpose and priorities.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing and planning across teams to ensure work is executed with a full understanding of its strategic significance.
Digital Platform Management – 15%
- Maintain and update website and email content using CMS and marketing platforms, ensuring content supports strategic goals.
- Collaborate with MARCOM to optimize visuals and multimedia content, understanding the why behind each piece to maximize impact.
- Monitor engagement and performance metrics to inform content decisions.
Reporting – 5%
- In collaboration with the MARCOM team, lead the tracking and reporting of departmental deliverables, including monthly and quarterly reports, and prepare related briefs and updates as required.
- Make recommendations to improve reach, engagement, and effectiveness, ensuring the team understands why certain strategies succeed or need adjustment.
Management & Team Development – 10%
- Contribute to a collaborative and supportive MARCOM team culture by sharing knowledge, encouraging strong work, and helping identify opportunities to improve how the team works together.
- Liaise with internal and external partners, associations, vendors, and interest holders on behalf of the CCA, as required.
- Provide constructive input and feedback on content and campaign work to support quality, consistency, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Relevant Skills
- University degree or post-graduate diploma in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field Digital media, content development, design, project management certifications
- 4+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or content development, preferably in a non-profit, association, or membership organization
- 2+ years in manager or supervisory, or project-lead role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with a strong command of grammar and language suited for Indian audiences.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and apply strong proofreading and quality control.
- Strong initiative, ownership, and accountability, with sound problem-solving skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, storytelling, and content creation skills across print, digital, social, and multimedia channels
- Strong research, interview, and analytical skills to inform content strategy and measure impact
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external leaders and partners
- Proven ability to develop creative campaigns and manage, publish, and optimize content across web, email, and social channels.
- Media relations experience, including pitching and managing relationships with media.
- Ability to steward and promote the CCA brand and the value of chiropractic within a changing healthcare environment.
- Collaborative team player who thrives in an open-concept environment and brings a growth mindset.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
- Experience with Marketing Cloud and Salesforce is an asset; experience with other CRM platforms is also an asset.
Salary Hiring Range: $75,000 to 80,000
Location: Toronto Office (Hybrid) – 3 days in office, 2 days remote
