Location: Happy Valley, Big White Ski Resort, British Columbia
Season Duration: Early December 2026 – Late February/Early March 2027
Starting Wage: $19.50 per hour
Shift Structure: Primarily afternoons and evenings (allowing for morning skiing/snowboarding).
Big White Ski Resort is hiring Skate Shop Associates for the upcoming winter season! This role is ideal for individuals who want to take full advantage of the mountain during the morning and work the afternoons and evenings. You will be the go-to person for our ice skating and hockey guests at Happy Valley.
Guest Service: Greet guests, assist with the rental sign-in process, and ensure all waivers are completed accurately.
Rental Operations: Operate POS systems to process payments, rentals, and gear returns.
Gear Fitting: Properly fit guests with skates, helmets, and hockey sticks.
Skate Maintenance: Provide basic maintenance and skate sharpening (experience is a bonus, but we provide training).
Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and fun atmosphere in the Happy Valley Skate Shop.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to handle cash and process transactions accurately.
High energy and a positive attitude, even during busy evening hours.
Reliability is key—this role is essential to our Happy Valley guest experience.
Must be available to work a flexible, rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Ability to work additional hours/overtime during peak season volume to meet guest service demands.
A commitment to being available when the team needs you most is essential to the success of our rental operations
Bonus: Previous skate sharpening experience is highly valued.
