About Ocean Steel
Incorporated in 1955, Ocean Steel services several markets, including Atlantic Canada, the Eastern United States, Bermuda and the Caribbean. Although they specialize in fabricating and erecting structural steel for buildings and bridges, they also manufacture and install platework, such as breechings, stacks, ducts, penstocks, process & storage tanks and custom process-equipment. Ocean Steel’s two New Brunswick plants include the original location in Saint John, as well as the York Steel Plant in Fredericton, which was acquired by Ocean Steel in 1995.
Responsibilities
- Load and un-load trucks in both shipping and receiving ends of the plant
- Use overhead crane to move steel and organize the yard
- Locate steel pieces for Machine operators, Fitters and Welders
- Pick up debris to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Working in all weather conditions
All around help in the steel shop when needed

Requirements
- Completion of high school
- CSA approved steel toe boots
- Previous experience in structural steel fabrication shop considered an asset
Successful helpers will have an opportunity to advance and to apply and train for Welder, Fitter and Machine Operator positions
