Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our busy food service team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment to support smooth restaurant operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food safety and cleanliness, with experience or interest in the food industry. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced restaurant setting and develop valuable skills in food handling and preparation.
Duties
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met
- Assist with meal preparation and food handling as needed, supporting chefs and kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work areas regularly
- Organize and store clean dishes and kitchen supplies efficiently
- Support food service staff by helping with basic food prep tasks and serving when required
- Follow all food safety guidelines and proper hygiene practices to ensure a safe dining environment
- Assist in waste disposal and recycling procedures to maintain a tidy workspace
Skills
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic understanding of meal preparation, cooking, or food industry practices is a plus
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good physical stamina for standing long hours, lifting moderate loads, and performing repetitive tasks
- Excellent organizational skills to manage cleaning supplies and maintain a hygienic workspace
Pay: $18.50-$21.00 per hour
