POSITION SUMMARY
Brooklyn Construction is seeking a driven and experienced Construction Project Manager to lead the on-site delivery of residential construction projects in the Ontario region. This hands-on role bridges the gap between pre-construction planning and site execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Reporting to senior leadership, the Construction Project Manager will coordinate site activities, manage subcontractor relationships, oversee construction documentation, and serve as the primary point of accountability for day-to-day project performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Delivery
- Manage all phases of construction from mobilization through to substantial completion and occupancy
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating across trades, suppliers, and internal teams
- Monitor project progress against milestones and proactively address schedule and scope deviations
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards
Site and Subcontractor Coordination
- Oversee site supervisors, subcontractors, and trades to ensure coordinated and safe site operations
- Lead site meetings, including progress reviews, coordination meetings, and deficiency walkthroughs
- Review and approve subcontractor work for compliance with scope, contract terms, and quality expectations
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and site instructions in a timely and organized manner
Budget and Cost Control
- Monitor hard cost budgets, track project expenditures, and flag variances to senior leadership
- Review subcontractor invoices and progress draws for accuracy and alignment with work completed
- Support cash flow forecasting and cost-to-complete reporting
Safety and Compliance
- Enforce a strong health and safety culture on all project sites in compliance with OHSA requirements
- Ensure all required permits, inspections, and municipal approvals are obtained and documented
- Maintain thorough site records including daily logs, inspection reports, and meeting minutes
Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary construction liaison with owners, consultants, municipal inspectors, and trades
- Provide regular construction progress reports and project updates to senior management
- Resolve conflicts and issues at the site level with professionalism and urgency
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in residential (mid / high rise) construction
- Proven track record delivering mid-to-large scale construction projects on time and on budget
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, building systems, and Ontario Building Code
- Experience managing subcontractor relationships and site teams
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency with project management tools and construction software
Preferred
- PMP designation or Gold Seal Certification
- Experience with mid / high rise residential construction in Ontario
