The Fluid Analysis Laboratory Technician 1 provides clerical and functional support across all laboratory operations. This role is responsible for coordinating and processing samples within the laboratory system, supporting internal teams and customers, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all sample registration and data management activities.

- Organize, receive, and register incoming samples accurately and efficiently
- Process and manage sample data within the laboratory information system (LIMS)
- Coordinate workflow to support timely processing and laboratory throughput
- Respond to internal and external inquiries, directing them to appropriate contacts
- Maintain accurate records and ensure customer instructions are followed with minimal errors
- Support overall laboratory operations through administrative and clerical tasks
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory workstation
- Collaborate with team members to improve lab processes and efficiency
- Assist with training new or less experienced team members
- Participate in lab initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement efforts
- Perform additional laboratory-related duties as required
Qualifications:
Education & Technical Skills
- Strong computer proficiency, including MS Office applications
- Advanced keyboarding and data entry skills
- Secondary education preferred; technical exposure is considered an asset

Important Information
- This position is based out of our Fluid Analysis Lab in West Edmonton on a 5x2 shift.
- This is a static day shift; Monday – Friday, 8 hours/day
- Hours and shift schedules that may be subject to change to meet Finning or customer requirements, will be made in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
