Large Format Finishing Operator (afternoon shift)

Job Overview
The Large Format Finishing Operator is responsible for cutting, laminating and skilled handwork on large format printed graphics. Working in a team environment, the Large Format Finishing Operator will report to the Finishing Manager in a fast paced, dynamic production environment, printing a wide variety of large format graphics for Retail, Out of Home and other applications. Experience is preferred but not necessary for those who are flexible, willing to learn, and mechanically inclined.
The Large Format Finishing Operator will have working relationships with Customer Service, Prepress, and the Production team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and accurately understand production dockets.
- Understand the required materials. Locate and retrieve the requirement inventory materials.
- Set-up, run, and maintain the: Kongsberg Cutting table, Fotoba cutters, Printing Laminators.
- With an eye for accuracy and detail, ensure production matches the production docket specifications and meets customer and quality specifications.
- Contributing to working in a safe manner and clean environment.
- Assist with various other team duties as required.
- Assembly and/or Packaging various jobs
- Assist with other finishing duties (grommeting, taping, glueing, etc)
- Communicate issues that will affect job timeline and or quality of work.
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Pro-actively communicate errors and non-conformance issues to management.
- Record all required information in Pace, the company docket system.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma or degree in a related field an asset but not required.
- Good mechanical, graphical and technological aptitude.
- Experience in the print industry is an asset but not required.
- Capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
- Able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods of time.
- Knowledge of Large Format Printing and related services including prepress, colour management, finishing methods and requirements, fabrication, installation, distros, packaging, and shipping is an asset
- Familiar with Print; OOH, In-Store Signage, Merchandising Displays and Branding Interiors
- Understanding of supporting technology – ePACE, Kongsberg iCut, General Computer Skills
- Excellent track record of building successful work relationships.
