Journeyman and Apprentice Electrician (2nd Year or Higher)

Bow River Electric Ltd. is a small, family-owned electrical contractor proudly serving Calgary and surrounding areas since 1984. We’re looking for motivated Journeyman and Apprentice Electricians (2nd year or higher) who want to grow their skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in commercial, light industrial projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Follow the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and company safety standards
- Bend conduit, pull wire, cut TECK cable, terminate devices, and assist with service calls
- Work collaboratively with journeymen and project leads to complete jobs efficiently and safely
Qualifications
- Registered Electrical Apprentice (2nd year or higher) or certified Journeyman Electrician
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Basic PPE (steel-toe boots, hard hat, safety glasses) and personal hand tools
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety
- Willingness to work occasional overtime or weekends
What We Offer
- Journeyman rate: $40.00–$42.00 per hour (depending on experience and foreman responsibility)
- Apprentice scale: 50–80% of journeyman rate
- Vacation & holiday pay: 10% on all regular hours

Assets (Preferred but Not Required)
- Aerial platform or scissor lift certification
- Commercial or service work experience
