Magna Mining Inc. is a Sudbury-focused, base metal exploration and development company.
Magna Mining’s key objective is to become the next nickel and copper producing company in Canada by executing a growth strategy that is focused exclusively on the historic nickel producing district of Sudbury, ON.
We intend to achieve this objective via the creation of a Sudbury focused, hub and spoke production model, with our existing Shakespeare project as the hub. The path to the creation of a significant new battery metals producing Canadian company is to execute a long term, multi-faceted growth strategy.
We are looking for a Core Technician to join our team!
The Core Technician is responsible for accuracy and integrity of the collection, handling, preparation, and documentation of core samples extracted from drilling activities across Magna Mining’s properties.
All Magna Mining team members are expected to work collaboratively with others, lead the way in health and safety, act with honesty, integrity, and foster an entrepreneurial spirit in pursuit of excellence.

Collect drill core from site locations and transport it safely to the core facility.

Load and organize core onto racks in accordance with core handling and storage procedures.

Perform core sampling in accordance with established sampling protocols and quality control standards.

Maintain accurate core management practices, including labeling, storage, tracking, and inventory control.

Coordinate and dispatch core shipments to laboratories, working closely with laboratory personnel to maximize shipment efficiency and turnaround times.

Operate and perform basic maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment for daily operational tasks.

Assist the Exploration Department with various tasks, including those requiring forklift operation and material handling.

Maintain the core shack in a clean, organized, and safe working condition at all times.

Ensure the core shack remains stocked with required supplies from the warehouse, including special order items, skids, and crates.

Maintain an organized yard to ensure proper and efficient core storage and accessibility.

Ensure drill crews are consistently supplied with adequate core boxes and related materials.

Coordinate with designated safety personnel regarding site safety procedures (e.g., rope cuts, drop tests, and other safety protocols), and communicate these procedures to all core shack personnel to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Qualifications: Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 1-year industry experience.
