REGISTERED NURSE:
Four (4) Critical Care Trained RNs

Job Description:
We are looking for Four (4) Critical Care Trained RNs. Significant experienced in emergency ICU nursing and able to function very independently. Experience and ability to work in both the ICU and ER for coverage is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
RN Critical Care:
- Comprehensive Assessment & Monitoring: Perform detailed, ongoing assessments and interpret complex data from monitors (e.g., hemodynamics, intracranial pressure, electrocardiograms) to detect, prevent, and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Technological Expertise: Proficiently manage specialized equipment including mechanical ventilators, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) machines, and infusion pumps.
- Medication Administration: Safely calculate, administer, and monitor high-alert medications and continuous IV drips.
- Rapid Intervention: Respond to emergency situations (e.g., cardiac arrest) by initiating life-saving measures and coordinating care with the healthcare team.
- Patient & Family Advocacy: Provide compassionate care, educate families, and support decision-making, particularly in end-of-life situations.
- Documentation & Care Planning: Maintain meticulous records of patient status, treatments, and response to interventions, developing and updating individualized care plans.
Qualification:
- Licensure: Active and valid Ontario Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience: Experience and ability to work in both the ICU and ER for coverage is strongly preferred.
- Certifications: Must have CTAS, TNCC, ACLS, BGM, Basic Cardiac Rhythm, and IV Therapy Certification ( and Critical Care Course if ICU trained)

Note:
- We are prioritizing RNs that are able to work in both the ER and the ICU to provide maximum coverage.
- Must be able commit to/be available for working full-time hours (up to 20 shift in a 6-week scheduling period) and for the entirety of the contract.
- Must be willing to be cross-trained and re-assigned to other units (specifically Acute Continuing Complex Care and Medical/Surgical) to provide coverage.
- Those with CURRENT Ontario licensure are strongly preferred for quick availability.
- If you are only experienced/trained in one area or the other, please let me know – we will still review but would like to prioritize those that can work in both areas.
