Job Summary
The Health Care Aide plays a crucial role in providing compassionate and personalized care to patients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home health environments. This position involves assisting individuals with daily living activities, monitoring their health status, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and have experience working with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients while promoting their independence.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation in compliance with medical standards.
- Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness in the patient’s living area and assist with laundry and meal preparation.
- Observe patient conditions and report any changes to nursing staff or healthcare providers.
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations while handling patient information.
- Provide specialized care for patients with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other memory-related conditions.
- Engage in hospice care duties when required, focusing on comfort and quality of life for patients nearing end-of-life stages.
Skills
- Proficient in patient observation techniques to identify changes in health status.
- Experience in assisted living or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems for accurate documentation of patient care.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to patient care practices.
- Certification in CPR and first aid is essential for ensuring patient safety.
- Experience with catheter care and other specialized medical procedures is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities or require memory care support.
- Strong caregiving skills that include cleaning and cooking for patients as needed.
- Understanding of home & community care practices to enhance patient quality of life. This role requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about providing high-quality care to those in need while maintaining a respectful and dignified approach towards all patients.

Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
