The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of materials throughout the production facility. This role supports manufacturing operations by supplying workstations with materials, tools, and fixtures while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials within designated storage areas.
- Follow direction from the Welding Department Supervisor regarding the staging and delivery of fixtures, parts, and tools to production work centres.
- Interpret production schedules and work collaboratively with the KPO office, lead hands, and production teams to ensure efficient material flow.
- Transport materials between departments and work centres as required.
- Follow all work instructions, standard operating procedures, and safe work practices.
- Contribute to meeting production schedules by ensuring materials are available when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by supporting the company's 6S program.
- Regularly walk throughout the facility and safely operate manual pallet jacks and wheeled carts.
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Forklift license required
- Read and interpret blueprint drawings when required.

- Basic computer skills with the ability to complete inventory and material transactions.
- Strong reading, writing, and basic math skills.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated ability to work with urgency while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), applicable regulations, and all company policies and procedures.
- Wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Immediately report hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents, or violations of safety procedures to your supervisor.
- Report any concerns involving workplace violence or harassment without delay.
- Never remove, disable, or bypass safety devices unless an approved temporary alternative is in place and the original device is reinstated immediately after the work is completed.
- Operate equipment and perform work safely to prevent injury to yourself or others.
- Understand and consistently follow safe work practices and company procedures.
- Attend all mandatory health and safety training, including orientation and WHMIS, and apply the knowledge in day-to-day work activities.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Manufacturing or production line experience.
- Experience working in an industrial environment.
- Familiarity with the Visual ERP system is considered an asset.
Education
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
