Meet & Greeter (NLS Certified)
Overview
The main purpose of this position is to keep our swimmers safe, uphold our safety policies while lessons are taking place and to provide a fun and safe environment in the pool area. The role also requires you to greet our customers in a warm and welcoming manner, providing support and guidance. To show them the facilities, explain procedures, pool rules, complete any required documentation and sell customers any equipment needed along with answering any questions our swimmers might have.
Responsibilities
- To follow all regular pool and safety regulations in effect at any pool and also Water Babies specific policies and procedures for each pool attended.
- To be prepared and keep all customers safe in and around the pool area, including correcting unsafe behaviour.
- To respond to emergency situations and perform rescue techniques and first aid based on your NL Training.
- To report any incidents, accidents or near misses in line with Water Babies policies and procedures.
- To arrive at each venue, get changed and be ready to guard the pool 30 minutes prior to the first class commencing and to remain on site until the last customer has left the building.
- To tidy up the pool area and check changing rooms for lost property at the end of each shift.
- To assist the teacher with preparation for class, such as setting up poolside displays, setting their kit up, preparing products for our customers, completing Happy Nappy checks, etc.
- To provide exceptional customer service and deal with questions, queries and product orders from our customers. To assist parents where required, this will include meeting clients and directing towards changing rooms, informing them of any specifics related to the pool/changing areas.
- To have a solid understanding of the venue to provide information about general pool rules, directions to changing rooms and pool, emergency procedures, location of fire exits and meeting points, and any other specifics related to each building.
- To provide cover for other lifeguards or Meet & Greeters throughout the franchise area where needed.
- To maintain order and up to date records in relation to all relevant documentation and administration procedures, as required. To liaise with the office and teachers and flag any on-going concerns or worries with any customer or health and safety risk.
Requirements
- Related Lifeguarding or Customer Service experience is required
- Current National Lifeguard Society (NLS) is required and must be maintained throughout employment
- Completed High school diploma
- Flexibility regarding work hours, including morning, days, evenings, and weekends
- Enthusiastic, helpful and reliable with excellent customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a supportive and caring attitude
- Good communicator, ability to work effectively either as part of a team or individually
- The ability to communicate to both babies / toddlers and carers and adapt tone
- Sense of humour with the ability to mix with a range of different people from differing backgrounds
Education
- Secondary School (required)
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
