Dallan LP is a 100% Aboriginal owned business that provides industrial yard services which includes a variety of heavy equipment operations, maintenance and general labour. Dallan operates at the Fort William, Atikokan and Ignace Sawmill as well as the Thunder Bay Pulp and Paper Mill.
Dallan currently has an open AZ truck driving position available hauling rough lumber using a flat deck trailer, hauling mill residuals such as dust, chips and bark with a chip van and also driving tri-axle dump trucks hauling waste material (ash, sludge) local in the Thunder Bay and surrounding areas.
The successful candidate will have overtime opportunities available for alternative runs; all runs are local or within Northern Ontario.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-trip inspections, maintenance as required and report issues to immediate supervisor.
- Adhere to all M.T.O. regulations including weight requirements.
- Comply with all Safety Procedures, Policies and Programs.
- Strap lumber for safe travel.
Qualifications:
- Must have a AZ license with a clean abstract
- Must be able to provide a criminal records check
- Previous experience hauling logs is considered an asset
- Ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances such as weather or traffic.
- Preference given to candidates who are safety minded, customer focused, self-starters, with strong communication skills.
