Chip Truck Driver (O/Op or Company drivers)
Duties:
- Safely operate a heavy-duty truck to transport wood residuals to designated locations
- B-Train experience would be an asset
- Load and unload wood residuals using appropriate equipment, such as front end loaders or loading from bins
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safe to operate
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, including maintaining a safe following distance and obeying speed limits
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries
- Communicate with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues or concerns that may arise
- Maintain accurate records of drivers logs, delivery slips, fuel usage, and any incidents or accidents that may occur
Requirements:
- Valid commercial class 1 driver's license (CDL) with a clean drivers abstract (minimum 2 years' experience.)
- Experience in operating heavy equipment, such as front end loaders is preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety protocols
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance tasks as needed
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet delivery deadlines
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with dispatchers, customers, and team members
- Able to handle the physical demands of long hours on the road and loading/unloading wood residuals
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: From $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 70 per week
