Cemetery Groundskeeper
Job Type: Seasonal / Part time
Location: St. James Cemetery
St. James Cemetery is looking for reliable and hardworking individuals to join our grounds maintenance team. This position involves maintaining the cemetery grounds, operating lawn equipment, and helping ensure the property remains clean, safe, and respectful for families and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Operate lawn mowers, trimmers, and other landscaping equipment to maintain cemetery grounds
- Trim grass around monuments, trees, fences, and other areas
- Perform general grounds maintenance, including cleanup and property upkeep
- Assist with preparing burial areas, including occasional digging of ash burial plots using hand tools
- Maintain flower beds, pathways, and landscaped areas
- Assist with basic cemetery operations and daily tasks
- Answer phones and assist visitors with general inquiries when required
- Follow safety procedures while working around equipment and cemetery property
Qualifications:
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Experience with lawn equipment, landscaping, or grounds maintenance is an asset
- Physically capable of lifting, bending, digging, and standing for extended periods
- Respectful and professional when working in a cemetery environment

Pay: $16.00 per hour
