Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team in the touch-up / service area of the trade. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of various painting techniques. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring high-quality results in residential settings. The Painter will work collaboratively with other team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and patching as necessary.
- Apply paint, lacquers, stains, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Ensure proper application techniques to achieve smooth and even finishes.
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance and make necessary touch-ups.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Complete touchups on new homes after all trades have finished their work and once again prior to the homeowner taking possession. This includes "clearing tags" that the customer has flagged for areas that need fine-tuning after the customer walkthrough is done.
- Service and warranty work will need to be completed in occupied customer homes. This means being able to communicate clearly with the homeowner and maintain a professional attitude to address any issues that may occur while on these service calls. Puntucal attendance for the scheduled appointments, along with tidy workmanship and overall cleanliness is a must.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding project progress and any issues that arise.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Painter or similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of painting materials, tools, and techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials as needed.
- Excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines.
- A valid driver's license and a vehicle will be required for travel to, and between job sites.
- Your own standard painting equipment and tools
- Valid Intermediate First Aid Level C certificate
- Valid WHMIS certificate
- Proper PPE, including CSA approved steel toe footwear, hard hat, high visibility safety vest
