Part Time Regular – Skating Specialist
WinnPro Hockey is a hockey development company centred around helping hockey players skate and perform better. WinnPro’s extremely high standards offer the most informative and transformational skating and athletic development in Winnipeg.
WinnPro Hockey is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced skating instructor to join our team to deliver technical skating treadmill instruction and support for on-ice programs.
Position: Skating Specialist
Pay: $25-40 per hour depending on qualifications and skills
Approx. 12-20 hours per week (4-8pm shifts, some weekends)
Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering the WinnPro Hockey skating curriculum.
Description
- Operate the WinnPro Skating Treadmill
- Accurately assess movement deficiencies
- Provide corrective drills and strategies
- Engage/encourage participants
- Lead and support on-ice groups of 14-28 students
- Provide technical instruction/feedback to players ages 7-15
Skills and Requirements
- Graduate or Student of Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Recreation Studies or Physical Education
- Proficiency with Dartfish or similar video analysis software considered a strong asset
- Must have at minimum AAA hockey playing experience in Canada
- Technical knowledge of skating required
- Ability to multitask/adapt on the fly to accommodate individual client needs
- Previous experience in hockey coaching or instruction
- Effective communication/appropriate use of voice/enthusiastic/engaging
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail. Ability to work without supervision and show initiative
