Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role requires strong mechanical expertise, familiarity with heavy equipment, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior dealership experience and knowledge of specialized machinery are highly valued. A valid BC commercial inspection ticket is an asset.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Conduct electrical repairs and troubleshooting on various vehicle systems
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all work performed
- Assist with the installation, assembly, and testing of industrial equipment
- Conduct inspections to identify potential safety hazards or mechanical failures
- Perform heavy lifting as required for parts replacement or equipment handling
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status and recommendations effectively
Skills
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and industrial machinery
- Dealership experience preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of commercial repair, electrical systems, HVAC, welding, and schematics, engine diagnosing and repair is an asset
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including loader and skid steers
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting and repair techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Punctual and presentable keeping work place clean and tidy and filling out proper work orders daily.

Pay: $45.00-$56.00 per hour
