Thunder Bay International Airports Authority Inc. (TBIAA) is seeking a skilled and adaptable student to join our Facilities Maintenance team for the Summer of 2026! The successful candidate will report to the Building Mechanical Supervisor, Airport Facilities.
This position will be responsible for maintaining the overall interior cleanliness of the Air Terminal Building (ATB). Duties include ensuring that interior facilities are clean, safe, and presentable at all times. This role provides hands-on experience in airport facilities maintenance while supporting the safe and efficient operation of airport infrastructure. Teamwork and the ability to make appropriate decisions are critical to the safety and success of this position. The candidate will be expected to complete all work in accordance with training, company policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with minor interior maintenance tasks including small drywall patching and touch-up painting
- Prepare surfaces for painting, such as applying primer, filler, caulking, and other building materials
- Assist with general upkeep of interior areas to maintain a professional environment
- Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks under direction of Facilities Supervisor
- Support minor repair work, including replacing fixtures, tightening hardware, and addressing minor maintenance issues
- Identify any maintenance issues and report them to the supervisor
- Assist other departments, including Airport Maintenance and Electrical
Basic Requirements for the Position:
- Possession of a valid Class G or G2 driver’s license
- Ability to provide a clean Criminal Record Check
- Strong work ethic with a high level of reliability, accountability and attention to detail
- Follow all safety procedures, workplace policies, rules, regulations and directions clearly
- Lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment
- Must be returning in Fall 2026 to a secondary or post-secondary school program
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
Work Location: In person
