Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry techniques and the ability to lead projects from conception to completion. As a Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for overseeing carpentry work, ensuring quality craftsmanship, and mentoring junior carpenters. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Work Description
At Superior Modern Renovations Ltd we mostly do residential renovations which can consist of the following.
. Demolition by hand of any part of a home.
. Dust containment.
. Additions/shops (foundations, framing, interior and exterior finishings including flooring)
. Back fill and slab prep.
. Heavy lifting and over head work.
. Work at heights.
. Siding Re & Re.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate carpentry projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
- Fabricate and assemble structures using wood, concrete , siding, and other materials.
- Perform cabinet installation and construction painting as required.
- Must be able to work outside in all weater conditions.
- Communicate effectively with all team members and customers.
- Complete finishing projects with great detail.
- Train and mentor junior carpenters in best practices and safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety regulations.
- Maintain a class 5 Drivers licence, and drive yourself to work and be punctual.
- Must supply your own pouch, with all the hand tools. And the appropriate PPE.
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading is essential for interpreting project specifications.
- Strong skills in caulking, flashing, siding installation, framing, and cabinet installation are required.
- Ability to perform construction estimating accurately for project planning.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
- Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage a team of carpenters.
- Knowledge of construction painting techniques is beneficial.
Wage will depend on experience, and certifications.
