Turn concepts into buildable products.
If you take pride in the art of bringing custom solutions to reality, and engineering complexity into outcomes with simplicity, this role will fit you well.
At Hansen Signs, we design, build, and install some of the most recognizable signage across Canada.
We are looking for someone who can take a concept and turn it into a clear, build-ready package that production can pick up and run with.
The Role
- Translate conceptual drawings into production-ready design packages using Solidworks and CAD tools.
- Determine the most efficient way to build items structurally, within the design intent and build that into the drawing package.
- You are thinking through the build before it happens, resolving challenges early, and making sure the path forward is clear for the team executing the work.
- You understand our manufacturing processes and will challenge our capabilities to deliver the best, most efficient solution that we can be proud of the end result for our clients.
What the Work Looks Like
- There is a steady flow of projects, and your role is to keep them moving. You’ll be developing drawing packages that production can pick up and run with clear direction.
- Some projects are straightforward, others require more problem solving, but in all cases you are making decisions, simplifying where needed, and keeping things practical so the work gets done efficiently.
- You’ll be working closely with project managers and the production team, making sure everyone is aligned on how things are being built. When something is unclear, you resolve it early. When something can be improved, you take that approach.
- Over time, you’ll start to shape how we build. Not just completing drawings, but improving methods, simplifying processes, and helping the entire team move faster and with more consistency.
What We Care About
- Having a strong skill in keeping things simple.
- Attention to detail matters, and what really sets this role apart is judgment. Knowing what needs to be solved, what can be simplified, and how to keep things moving without overcomplicating them.
- Drawings need to be clear, accurate, and ready to build, and they need to be delivered at a pace that keeps up with demand.
- You should be comfortable working in SolidWorks and have a background in mechanical engineering or industrial design, with a solid understanding of how things are actually built. Experience in custom manufacturing is a strong asset, especially if you’ve been close to the production side of the work.
- We value people who take ownership, stay organized, and continue to improve. Someone who is detail-oriented and analytical, but also practical in how they apply that thinking day to day.
Why Hansen Signs
- You get to see your design vision created and installed in the real world.
- You’ll be part of a team that moves fast, supports each other, and cares about doing things the right way.
- There is real opportunity to grow, take on more responsibility, and have a direct impact on how we operate as we continue to expand.
- We offer health and wellness benefits, a company pension plan, and an environment where people take ownership of their work and push for better.
Pay: $50,000.00-$63,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Casual dress
- Company pension
- On-site parking
