Job description
Total Swine Genetics is a well-established boar stud located in Tillsonburg, Ontario. We house boars (male pigs) for our genetic partners and collect semen that is sold to our customers across Southwestern Ontario. Our barn team cares for the boars and collects semen on our 3 production days each week-Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and take care of any other barn-related tasks on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
We are looking for an employee to work full-time Monday - Friday. With a possibility of 1-2 weekend feeding shifts per month.
Duties:
-Feeding boars
-Moving boars from their pens to the collecting area
-Moving boars from the collecting area back to their pens
-Collecting from boars
-Running collections to the lab
-Pressure washing, scraping, laundry, maintaining barn cleanliness
Requirements:
-Must have a positive attitude and be willing to learn
-Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
-Must have a G license and reliable transportation
Shift details:
Production shifts begin at 5:30 am and end when production ends (12:00-3:00 PM)
Production shifts are every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are usually shorter days (5-7 hours) when staff complete non-production related tasks like cleaning, maintenance and yard work.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
