Job Summary
NextGen 200 is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and results-driven Project Manager / Estimator to oversee residential and commercial construction projects from initial client consultation through project completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating, project planning, budgeting, scheduling, coordinating trades, managing client relationships, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, practical construction knowledge, and the ability to prepare accurate estimates and proposals. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate construction estimates, quotations, and project proposals based on drawings, specifications, site visits, and client requirements.
- Review project plans, blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope, materials, labor requirements, and costs.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Coordinate and manage all phases of residential and commercial construction projects from pre-construction through completion.
- Obtain and evaluate pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Manage project documentation, permits, inspections, change orders, and project closeout activities.
- Conduct site visits and project meetings to ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Prepare progress reports and provide regular project updates to clients and management.
- Identify potential risks and develop solutions to minimize delays, cost overruns, and project disruptions.
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure a positive customer experience throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction project management and estimating.
- Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods, materials, and building practices.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Experience preparing detailed estimates, budgets, and project proposals.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
- Leadership skills with the ability to coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams effectively.
- Knowledge of building codes, construction safety requirements, and industry best practices.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing both residential and commercial construction projects, including renovations, additions, restorations, and new construction.
- Knowledge of local building codes, permit requirements, and construction regulations.
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Extensive hands-on experience in construction, estimating, and project management will be given greater consideration than formal educational qualifications. We value practical knowledge, proven skills, leadership ability, and a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering projects.
