Krasman Family Law is a sole practitioner family law office located in Courtenay, B.C. and opened December 2025. Ryan Krasman is an experienced family law litigator in his ninth year of call who is opening his own practice after years at a general practice firm in Campbell River.
As this is a brand-new practice, the successful candidate should be open to flexibility regarding tasks and organizational responsibilities.
Office hours and hybrid/remote work will be arranged on a case-by-case basis depending on the needs and qualifications of the candidate. This opening is best suited for a candidate seeking part-time employment of approximately 15-25 hours per week and opportunities for full-time employment may arise as the practice gets underway. Due to the nature of the in-office tasks that will be sometimes required, the candidate must be located in the Courtenay / Comox Valley area.
Required qualifications:
· Strong organizational skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills including typing proficiency
· Attention to detail and time-management
· Sensitivity and confidentiality when dealing with client matters
· Proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office
Ideal qualifications:
· 3+ years of experience as a legal assistant – the more familiarity with family law and/or litigation, the better!
· Legal Administrative Assistant diploma or certificate or similar
· Familiarity with Supreme Court Family Rules and Provincial Court Family Rules
· Familiarity with Clio
· Familiarity with DivorceMate
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00-$33.00 per hour
