Volunteer – Canada Day Celebration & Fireworks 2026
Join the Yonge North York BIA as a volunteer for the Yonge North York Canada Day Celebration & Fireworks taking place on July 1, 2026, at Mel Lastman Square.
This annual celebration welcomes thousands of residents and visitors for a day filled with live entertainment, family-friendly activities, cultural programming, local vendors, and a spectacular fireworks display. Volunteers play an important role in helping create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for everyone attending.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with event setup and teardown
- Greeting and directing attendees
- Supporting event activities and programming
- Providing information and wayfinding assistance
- Assisting with crowd flow and event logistics
- Supporting event staff and vendors as needed
What We're Looking For
- Friendly and enthusiastic individuals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable and punctual team players
- Comfortable working in a dynamic outdoor event environment
No previous volunteer or event experience is required.
