Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities
Our employer partner in the Senior Living and Retirement Residence sector is seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join their Wellness Team. This role focuses on supporting residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity, independence, safety, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility assistance, and dining support.
- Monitor resident well-being and promptly report changes in condition to the nursing and wellness team.
- Accurately document care provided and maintain resident records in accordance with organizational policies.
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and resident concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Support residents' emotional, cognitive, and social well-being through compassionate care and companionship.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality care.
- Follow infection prevention, health and safety, and resident care protocols.
- Participate in training, quality improvement initiatives, and team meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate from an accredited Canadian educational institution or equivalent recognized training.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience in retirement living, long-term care, home care, or seniors' services is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- Physically capable of performing care-related duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and call-ins.
- Must be able to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Screening upon hire.
Compensation:
$20.00 – $24.00 per hour, based on experience.
