- Lead the development, implementation, and governance of enterprise HR policies, standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Interpret complex legislation and legal requirements, translating them into clear, practical policies and guidance.
- Partner with Legal, HR, and senior leaders to ensure compliance with employment legislation and corporate governance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Provide strategic recommendations while considering operational, financial, legal, and reputational risk.
- Lead initiatives related to policy governance, ethics, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Review, modernize, and develop policies that support organizational growth and evolving regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and coach a Policy & Compliance Specialist while fostering collaboration and professional development.
- Influence senior stakeholders across a highly matrixed organization to drive consistent policy application and decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen governance, and enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Leverage data, reporting, AI, and emerging technologies to improve compliance, policy management, and operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of progressive experience in policy development, governance, compliance, employment law, HR, or a related discipline within a large, complex organization.
- Previous leadership experience with responsibility for coaching, mentoring, and developing others.
- Extensive experience creating, reviewing, and interpreting corporate policies and governance frameworks.
- Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex legal and technical information for business audiences.
- Executive presence with the confidence to influence senior leaders and navigate competing priorities.
- Outstanding critical thinking, judgement, and problem-solving skills.
- A self-starter who thrives with autonomy and enjoys working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Experience working within large, matrixed organizations where collaboration and influence are critical.
