Job Title: Materials Expediter IV
Location: Calgary, AB
Our client is seeking an experienced Materials Expediter IV to support Supply Chain operations by expediting and tracking equipment, materials, documentation, and logistics activities for projects, purchase orders, and contracts. The ideal candidate will bring strong coordination skills, extensive expediting experience, and the ability to build effective working relationships with vendors, project teams, engineering groups, and other stakeholders.
What's the Job?
- Proactively expedite assigned equipment, materials, and deliverables to support project milestones and construction schedules.
- Monitor and manage vendor performance to ensure on-time readiness and delivery of equipment and materials.
- Coordinate and track vendor documentation, including drawings, RFIs, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), and Vendor Data Requirements (VDRs).
- Review fabrication schedules, inspection reports, and other vendor documentation to identify and mitigate potential delays.
- Communicate actual or potential schedule impacts and collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to develop solutions.
- Schedule, facilitate, document, and manage vendor supply meetings and participate in project meetings as required.
- Prepare and deliver status updates and progress reports using established reporting formats.
- Support invoice review and verification processes for accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve freight claims, shipment discrepancies, quantity variances, and tagging issues.
- Coordinate logistics activities, shipment deliveries, and site readiness requirements.
- Maintain organized electronic records and expediting files to support contract and purchase order closeout activities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to new team members, project personnel, and vendors on expediting processes.
- Work closely with senior expeditors, supervisors, managers, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
What's Needed?
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in a fast-paced expediting, supply chain, procurement, logistics, or project environment.
- Strong understanding of expediting best practices, logistics processes, purchasing activities, and project documentation requirements.
- Working knowledge of engineering and vendor documentation management.
- Strong organizational, coordination, and multitasking abilities with the capacity to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of Incoterms, shipping methods, and warehousing strategies.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
