Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in operating heavy machinery, particularly excavators, as well as physical skills for a variety of civil construction and excavation projects.
The role requires precision, attention to safety, and the ability to work in various conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators to perform digging, trenching, and earthmoving tasks.
- Have a general understanding of project locates, drawings and other documents pertaining to each jobsite.
- Conduct pre-operational checks and ensure the equipment is functioning properly.
- Follow safety protocols and comply with company and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with the construction team to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Perform routine general maintenance on the excavator as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an excavator operator (5+ years preferred).
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation (preferred).
- Strong understanding of excavation and construction safety practices.
- Physical ability to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy objects, as well as the ability to work on the ground if needed.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Compensation: $35.00 to $40.00 an hour
