Lead Payroll for One of Canada's Most Trusted Retailers
London Drugs is seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to lead payroll operations for one of Canada's most respected and successful retailers. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across a large, multi-location workforce while partnering closely with Human Resources, Finance, Benefits, and Information Technology teams.
As our Payroll Supervisor and payroll subject matter expert, you will provide leadership to the payroll team, support payroll system enhancements including Workday, and help strengthen payroll compliance, payroll accounting, reporting, reconciliations, and year-end processes.

What You'll Do
As Payroll Supervisor, you will oversee payroll operations while providing leadership and technical expertise to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across London Drugs and its subsidiary companies.
- Lead the end-to-end processing of two bi-weekly payroll cycles.
- Review and approve payroll transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and service excellence.
- Oversee EFT file transmission and related payroll funding activities.
- Monitor and implement payroll changes resulting from legislative updates, regulatory requirements, and company policy changes.
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and support payroll accounting accuracy.
- Oversee CRA source deduction reconciliations and annual T4 balancing and reporting.
- Review and approve payroll journal entries and third-party remittances.
- Provide guidance and support to Payroll Administrators on complex payroll matters.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop payroll team members.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, Benefits, Operations, and IT on payroll projects and process improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll controls, efficiency, accuracy, reporting, and employee experience.
- Support management with payroll reporting, forecasting, and budget-related activities.

Qualifications
- Progressive Canadian payroll experience, including payroll leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience working in large, complex, high-volume payroll environments.
- Experience supporting payroll operations across multiple locations is preferred.
- Experience with payroll systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, Kronos, ADP, Ceridian Dayforce, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, payroll accounting, taxation, compliance, benefits, pensions, and year-end processing.
- PCP designation required.
- CPM designation considered an asset.
- Strong proficiency with payroll reporting, reconciliation, auditing, and issue resolution.
Availability Requirement
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday. Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends is required to support payroll deadlines and business needs.
