Temp - Legal Administrative Assistant - Vancouver - Acumin - #5140V
Our client, a highly respected North Vancouver law firm, is looking for a driven LAA to join there team on an immediate temporary basis.
This role requires an individual who is organized, effective at multi-tasking and detail oriented, with strong communication and people skills. Depending on experience and knowledge, the core responsibilities of the role will be, but not limited to:
- Performing conflict searches, opening files, completing client identification/verification and preparing retainer letters.
- Maintaining and organizing files and documents.
- Formatting documents.
- Time entry and billing.
- Generating monthly WIP and AR Reports.
- Sending and receiving letters with or without enclosures, as well as with or without courier.
- Bank runs, as needed.
- Welcoming all visitors and guests to our West Vancouver location.
- Answering incoming telephone calls and forwarding to appropriate parties, as needed.
- Receiving payments, recording receipts for services.
- Calendar organization for lawyers including scheduling telephone, video conference and in-person client meetings, booking boardrooms and setting up virtual meetings using Zoom and Teams; and
- Other administrative duties as required.
What you bring to the table:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an LAA
- A Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution
- Strong technical proficiency, including Acumin, iManage, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe
- Ability to manage a high volume of work and shifting priorities while meeting deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional judgment, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing demands and deadlines
