About Us
The Narrow Group is a collection of six unique, independently spirited restaurants and bars in Vancouver: The Narrow Lounge, Uncle Abe's, Slim's BBQ, Taco Kat, Monarch Burger, and Key Party. We're a tight-knit team that puts out great food and has a lot of fun doing it.
The Opportunity
We're growing our Back of House team and looking for a cook who wants more than just a single-station grind. At The Narrow Group, our cooks have a home store where they get their footing, then cross-train at additional locations as needed. The more venues you know, the more hours, flexibility, and wage increases become available to you.
You'll start by training at Slim's BBQ, and then move on to Monarch Burger: two distinct concepts that will sharpen your range as a cook.
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepping and preparing food to spec, consistently and with care
- Keeping your kitchen and counter area clean and organized
- Receiving and processing orders accurately
- Interacting with guests in an open kitchen environment: you're part of the experience
- Supporting Front of House operations where needed
- Closing duties
- Maintaining and improving health and safety standards for eachother and our guests
What We're Looking For
- At least 1 year of cooking experience
- Food Safe Level 1 or Higher
- The confidence and experience to hold it down working independently
- A genuine understanding of hospitality: guests come first
- Comfortable taking orders, handling cash/payments, and engaging with guests
- Serving It Right will be required for working at Monarch Burger (we will reimburse after 3 successful months)
- Strong communicator, team player, and problem solver

Pay: $19.50-$21.00 per hour
