Pile Monitor / Civil Inspector to support a variety of civil infrastructure and deep foundation projects across the Edmonton region. This is a hands-on field role where you’ll play a critical part in ensuring construction activities — including piling, earthworks, grading, and general civil works — meet engineering specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. What You’ll Be Doing:-
Safety First, Always – Take an active role in site safety meetings, follow all site-specific requirements, and lead by example to promote safe work practices. Encourage safety interventions and maintain a culture where safety and quality come first.

Civil Inspection & Field Oversight – Monitor construction activities including earthworks, grading, compaction, underground utilities, and foundation construction to ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications.

Pile Monitoring & Deep Foundations – Observe and document pile installation activities (driven, drilled, CFA, etc.), including depths, blow counts, alignment, and installation methods.

Field Testing & QA/QC – Perform on-site materials testing including compaction, concrete, and asphalt testing as required. Ensure testing is completed in accordance with applicable standards.

Field Data & Reporting – Maintain accurate, detailed field records including inspection reports, pile logs, test results, and daily summaries using both manual and digital systems.

Quality Control Tracking – Identify non-conforming work, improper installation practices, or material issues, and communicate findings clearly to the project team.

Technical Monitoring – Assist with or observe specialized testing such as dynamic pile testing (PDA), load testing, or instrumentation monitoring as required.

Equipment Handling – Maintain and properly use field and testing equipment such as nuclear density gauges and concrete testing tools.

Client & Team Collaboration – Work closely with clients, contractors, and engineers to support project success while maintaining strong professional relationships.

Quality & HSE Compliance – Actively participate in Inline Group’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) program.
What We’re Looking For:-
Experienced Professional – 3–5+ years of experience in civil construction inspection, pile monitoring, geotechnical inspection, materials testing, or QA/QC roles within civil or infrastructure projects.

Technical Knowledge – Strong understanding of:

Civil construction practices (grading, earthworks, and underground services)

Soil classification and geotechnical principles

Deep foundation systems (driven piles, drilled piles, CFA)

Construction drawings, specifications, and testing standards

Ready for the Job – Comfortable working outdoors in active construction environments around heavy equipment. Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to travel locally to job sites.

Education (Preferred) – Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Assets:

Experience with pile monitoring or dynamic testing (PDA)

Experience with civil inspection across multiple scopes (earthworks, roads, utilities)

CCIL accreditation in Type-C/HMA, Type-QF/QL, or CSA
-
Ability to support multi-crew operations across varying scopes and shifts
