Overview
PPB Analytical Inc. is a leading commercial testing laboratory dedicated to delivering accurate and reliable testing services to our clients in cannabis and environmental sectors. We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. As we continue to grow, we are currently seeking a laboratory coordinator to support our daily operation.
Duties
Core Sample Registration Duties:
- Receive incoming shipments, inspect for damage, verify contents against purchase orders, and complete appropriate documentation
- Unpack parcels and organize samples or lab materials according to requirements.
- Track shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required.
- Identify and coordinate the resolution of concerns with the submission.
- Input information into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Maintain chain of custody and ensure proper labeling and documentation of all samples.
- Coordinate the transfer of samples to the next departments for testing.
- Ensure items are stored in appropriate locations with correct environmental conditions.
- Manage and document the proper destruction of samples following retention timelines and laboratory protocols.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Liaise with internal departments including laboratory analysts, QA, and customer service to
- address sample-related issues.
- Communicate with clients regarding missing paperwork, sample discrepancies, or special handling
- instructions when required.
- Participate in ongoing training and actively contribute to process improvements.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Provide input to corrective action procedures.
- Assist in developing SOPs and general work instructions.
- Identify and communicate non-conformances to the Supervisor.
- Participate in internal and external audits as well as lab and health & safety meetings, when requested.
- Adhere to PPB Analytical Laboratories policies and procedures.
- Support and comply with PPB Analytical Laboratories' Health & Safety program.
- Follow established safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment when applicable.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.
- Experience in commercial laboratory is an asset
- Strong organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with a great attention for data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: From $18.60 per hour
