We are seeking an experienced Digital Court Reporter to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area.
Digital Court Reporters play a critical role in preserving the official record of Examinations for Discovery, arbitrations, mediations, examinations under oath, and other legal proceedings. As a neutral officer of the proceeding, you will create a complete and accurate verbatim record while ensuring proceedings are conducted efficiently, professionally, and with the highest standard of client service.
The ideal candidate is confident working independently, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, communicates effectively, and remains composed in fast-paced legal environments.
Responsibilities
Digital Court Reporters are responsible for:
- Capturing accurate, high-quality audio and video recordings using specialized digital court reporting technology.
- Preparing, testing, and troubleshooting recording equipment before each proceeding.
- Administering oaths and affirmations as a Commissioner for Taking Affidavits, where authorized.
- Marking, managing, and securing exhibits throughout legal proceedings.
- Creating accurate annotations and logs to support transcript production.
- Monitoring proceedings to ensure the integrity and completeness of the official record.
- Completing all required documentation accurately and within established timelines.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality while handling sensitive legal information.
- Building professional relationships with counsel, clients, witnesses, interpreters, and Arbitration Place team members.
- Collaborating with Scheduling, Client Services, and Production teams to ensure proceedings are executed seamlessly.
- Representing Arbitration Place with professionalism, impartiality, and exceptional client service at every proceeding.

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
- Certification in court reporting or digital transcription is a plus.
Experience:
- Proven experience in digital monitoring, court reporting, or a related legal field.
- Proficiency in using digital recording equipment and transcription software.
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON M5H 2R2
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
