What you will be doing
Reporting to the Human Resources department, Transportation Recruiter ensures that our base of IC’s is always maintained at appropriate levels. Transportation Recruiter will be responsible for onboarding of new ICs and electronic storage of ICs documents. In addition, Transportation Recruiter is responsible for maintaining consistent and professional contact with brokers and partners providing transportation (agents) and protecting the organization's reputation by providing the service we promise.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Employ a variety of creative sourcing strategies to attract and identify a high-quality diverse candidate pool, through a range of online channels (social media, job search engines, including advertising, web-based recruiting sites and word of mouth)
- Vet and select IC’s that satisfy our stringent service provider requirements.
- Ensure that the IC’s are in full compliance with all pre-defined work instructions and pertinent legislation.
- Maintain an accurate and current database of IC’s and administer all documentation including expirations and renewals.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships between the Dispatch, Regional Account Client Specialists and Brokers.
- Responsible for on boarding of new Brokers – including processing required paperwork, obtaining and verification of required documents, and offboarding of terminated Brokers.
- Ensure that the Broker ID badge is created and is provided to the Broker or Dispatch prior to the first dispatch.
- Coordinate booking of Brokers’ training as required.
- Manage upkeep of all Broker documentation to ensure it is up to date (Insurance, plate registration, vehicle ownership, driver’s license, and WSIB) across the country.
- Set up new Brokers in Courier Complete and communicate newly generated Brokers’ numbers to Trainer Specialist, Dispatch and Operational teams advising of the new Broker.
- Ensure the Broker has been added to the appropriate email distribution list via IT Support.
- Maintain Brokers documentation electronic storage, along with storing hard copies within the driver files cabinet.
- Maintain WSIB documentation for all IC.
- Send T4A forms via mail to all Brokers for yearly income tax purposes.
- Take the necessary steps to minimize transportation costs and maintain efficiency.
- Foster positive customer relations through participation in regular Client meetings.
- Liaise with Clients and internal Client Relationship Managers to ensure services are being delivered as per the Client’s expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Work experience in Logistics’ field is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated organizational, planning and decision-making skills
- Capable of managing a large number of tasks and resources on multiple projects with tight deadlines
- Must be detail-oriented, responsible, punctual and able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to expand job responsibilities, suggests improvements
- Must be cost conscious and be able to identify opportunities to increase profitability.
- Work flexible hours and days
