The Opportunity:
The Program Coordinator will work closely with Under One Sky’s Director of Operations and will be responsible for administering the Reaching Home program as outlined by Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities Canada. The Program Coordinator is the primary point person and will provide analysis of funding proposals, complete recommendation reports, prepare funding agreements, and monitor projects and payments.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee program sub-projects to support Indigenous housing and homelessness initiatives in New Brunswick.
- Provide guidance and support to organizations seeking Reaching Home funds, including application assistance and capacity-building resources.
- Develop reporting processes, policies and procedures to adhere to funding requirements.
- Receive and review funding proposals. Provide evaluation, analysis, and recommendations on funding proposals.
- Develop legal agreements with proponents.
- Receive and review project progress reports and conduct site visits as needed to confirm progress and compliance.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial and narrative reports.
- Understand and manipulate financial and demographic data to create projects updates and reports.
- Establish and maintain positive stakeholder relationships to align Reaching Home funding with community needs and priorities.
- Manage financial projections, cash flow reports, and accounts payable.
- Identify and manage financial, operational and compliance risks associated with funding.
- Ensure all funded projects comply with federal, provincial, and organizational regulations.
- Participate in conferences and training opportunities and share learning with funding recipients.
- Liaise regularly with external advisory committee to arrange meetings, develop agendas, and record minutes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Office Administration, or another related discipline.
- 3-5 years’ experience in an administrative role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with funding recipients, community partners and coworkers.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and support multiple sub projects.
- Proven track record of managing budgets, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of local Indigenous communities, culture, and history.
- Strong understanding of homelessness issues and community development strategies.
- A Criminal Background/Vulnerable Sector and Social Development check is required.
