ABOUT THE ROLE
Elite Royal International Career College (ERICC) is seeking a dedicated Educational Counsellor to provide academic advising, career guidance, student success support, and employment-readiness counselling to prospective and current students across various vocational programs.
The successful candidate will assist students in making informed educational and career decisions, support student retention and program completion, and collaborate with employers, community partners, and internal stakeholders to enhance graduate employment outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advise prospective and current students regarding educational pathways, program selection, admission requirements, and career opportunities.
- Provide educational and career counselling to support student success, retention, progression, and graduation.
- Assist students in developing academic and career action plans aligned with their educational and employment goals.
- Guide students regarding practicum, work placement, and employment preparation requirements.
- Conduct employment-readiness coaching, including resume preparation, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
- Coordinate and facilitate student orientations, information sessions, workshops, and career development activities.
- Monitor student progress and identify students requiring additional support, guidance, or referrals.
- Refer students to appropriate academic, community, or support services when necessary.
- Maintain relationships with employers, placement partners, and community organizations to support graduate employment opportunities.
- Arrange and support recruitment opportunities for graduating students with employers and industry partners.
- Maintain accurate student records, counselling documentation, and outcome reports.
- Participate in recruitment initiatives, career fairs, open houses, and student engagement activities.
- Assist in evaluating student support services and recommend improvements to enhance student success and employment outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counselling, Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in educational counselling, student services, career development, employment services, training, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of career planning, educational advising, and student support practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse educational, cultural, and professional backgrounds.
- Experience in a post-secondary institution, career college, employment service agency, or educational environment is considered an asset.
