The Opportunity
The Financial Systems Analyst will support the optimization, automation, and integrity of the YMCA’s financial processes and systems. This role will leverage technology to streamline workflows, enhance data accuracy, and improve reporting capabilities across the Association. In addition, the position will play a key role in supporting the summer camp registration and attendance reconciliation process to ensure accurate billing, revenue recognition, and compliance with internal financial controls.
This is an 8 week contract position, with opportunities for flexible shifts, including early mornings, days, evenings, and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Support the optimization and maintenance of financial systems, including accounting software, reporting tools, payment platforms, and integrations with membership and registration systems.
- Identify opportunities to automate financial workflows, such as journal entries, reconciliations, data imports, recurring reports, and approval processes, using available technologies and AI-driven tools.
- Analyze and document finance-related business processes, recommending improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
- Manage and support the summer camp financial workflow, including reconciling registration records, attendance logs, payments, subsidies, and adjustments to ensure accurate billing and revenue allocation.
- Provide timely and effective support to finance and program staff, helping troubleshoot system issues, resolve data discrepancies, and ensure users understand financial processes and tools.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of financial dashboards and reporting, ensuring teams have accurate and accessible information for decision-making.
- Conduct regular data audits to identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing information, and work with teams to implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with IT, registration, and program teams to support integrations between financial systems and operational platforms (e.g., membership systems, payroll/HRIS, and camp registration tools).
- Support subsidy billing and reimbursement processes, ensuring accurate documentation, tracking, and reporting.
- Complete any other work-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills and Qualifications
- Foundational Knowledge of AI & Machine Learning
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and identify effective solutions to complex business challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Be flexible and adaptable, understand the overall goals of the team and actively seek to help achieve them.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work items with minimum direction.
- Strong time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
