Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team as a temporary full-time FLOAT NURSE. This role offers the opportunity to work across various healthcare settings, providing essential patient care and support in diverse environments. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of nursing skills, including experience in long-term care, hospital settings, acute care, and specialized areas such as dementia, pediatrics, and hospice care. Flexibility, excellent clinical judgment, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this dynamic position.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive patient care across multiple healthcare settings, including nursing homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and home care.
- Administer medications accurately following established protocols and document all patient interactions meticulously.
- Perform clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, pain management interventions, and basic laboratory tasks.
- Utilize electronic health record systems like Epic and Cerner for documentation and case management.
- Monitor patient vital signs, assess needs, and respond promptly to changes in condition.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Support patients with dementia, senior care needs, pediatric cases, hospice services, and other specialized populations.
- Provide patient education on treatments, medications, and health maintenance strategies.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in nursing home environments, hospitals, or acute care settings.
- Familiarity with dementia care, pediatrics, home care services, hospice care, or senior/assisted living facilities is highly desirable.
- Skilled in medication administration, patient assessment, and case management practices.
- Experience working with electronic health records such as Epic or Cerner is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures including phlebotomy is advantageous.
- Prior experience in pain management or laboratory work enhances candidacy.
- Strong background in patient-centered care with excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with healthcare teams and patients alike.
