Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented cleaner, to maintain our short-term rental cottages between guest stays, throughout the village of Port Stanley. You will be responsible for ensuring the cottage is clean, well-maintained, and in excellent standing to welcome every new guest. This is a flexible, hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work and can manage their time independently. Having a vehicle to get between locations is helpful but not a requirement.
The position is ideal for those seeking a blend of hands-on work in cleaning /maintenance, and basic landscaping, to create a safe, tidy, and welcoming environment for our Port Stanley visitors.
Duties
- Perform thorough interior cleaning of cottages between guest checkouts and new arrivals, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and living areas.
- Change and launder bed linens, towels, and other guest items; restock supplies as needed.
- Conduct property inspections between guests, noting and reporting any damage or maintenance concerns.
- Perform basic maintenance checks (lighting, appliances, locks) and identify issues for follow-up.
- Clean and inspect hot tubs, and barbecues between guests.
- Assist with landscape maintenance such as gardening, watering, and planting.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Work within guest changeovers and communicate reliably regarding readiness and any issues found.
Experience
- Prior experience with cleaning or maintenance work is preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of facility upkeep and outdoor landscaping practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety protocols.
- Physical capability to perform outdoor work including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
